Narration 1 02:10
Long ago we all know Of a special birth: a light for all the earth. So we tell a story now Of angels calling ‘round. In a land of fear: oppression near, Shepherds watched their sheep in humble flocks. Then a call: the orders fall. Hope was hard to be found. It’s not a dream’s imaginings. The circumstances are true. As clear as can be for us to see Is the light in all we do. So listen now and find out how The shepherds cared, with friendship to be shared. And like today, not far away Were angels calling ‘round. There’s a plan to understand And endless reasons for why. The angel’s song, clear and strong, Still echoes through the sky. Our story begins with people in A land of doubt of what life was about. But close to be heard were holy words Of angels calling ‘round, Angels calling ‘round.

(Maidens:) Who would think that we would be left alone, ‘lone With only these tents to be our home, home. To be taxed: a poll for a distant king, king. All the world to him as if some plaything, thing. Still unmarried maidens, we are exempt now. There’s children to look after and hence we stay now. Night comes soon and with it the cold as winds howl. Pray to God someday to soon be free. One man left: our Jacob to watch at night here. Lucky, a descendent of David born near. Will the rest return? Nothing is foreseen, ‘seen. Sometimes such oppression is like one bad dream. At least there’s always precious children to care for. Love and joy they bring to us all and much more. Who knows what tomorrow for us has in store? Pray to God Someday to soon be free! (Jacob:) Soon the sun drops from the sky. The evening air is cold and dry And you and the children should be off to sleep. I and the dog keep watch ‘til dawn And our Lord knows in Him we’re strong. His angels are near and for his watch they keep. (Jacob and Maidens:) Children! Children! Time for bed! Time for bed! Children! Children! Time for bed! Time for bed! Children! Children! Children! (Children:) Can we stay awake for a little bit longer? Can we stay awake for a little more time? If we stay awake, we can see the stars come out and shine! Can we stay awake for a little bit longer? Can we stay awake for a little more time? If you tell us so, we can see the stars come out and shine! (Maidens and Jacob) Can’t you feel the chill in the air? Soon comes darkness: time to beware! (Children;) Can we stay awake for a little bit longer? Can we stay awake for a little more time? If we stay awake, we can see the stars come out and shine! Can we stay awake for a little bit longer? Can we stay awake for a little more time? If you tell us so, we can see the stars come out and shine! Come out and shine! Come out and shine!

Narration 2 01:05
Settled down, their beds on the ground, It would soon be light, the ending of the night. Then wondrous words they all heard: An angel talking now! Hard to believe, yet not a dream, Each of them woke to the sight. Then a song, clear and strong Echoed through the night! Now back to then, revealed as when The angel came proclaiming our Lord’s reign: Love divine, God’s light to shine And angels calling now.

(Angel:) Be not afraid, for behold I bring you good news of great joy Which will come to all the people. For unto you is born today in the town of Bethlehem Our Messiah, Lord and Saviour. Long foretold, this is Emmanuel. Wonderful will be this Counselor. He will be the mighty Prince of Peace. And His love will live forever (Angel Chorus:) Glory to God, glory to God in the Highest! Glory to God, glory to God, glory to God in the Highest! (Angel:) And this will be a sign to you: in swaddling clothes you’ll find Lying nearby in a manger For unto you is born today in the town of Bethlehem Our Messiah, Lord and Saviour. Long foretold, this is Emmanuel. Wonderful will be this Counselor. He will be the mighty Prince of Peace. And His love will live forever. (Angel Chorus:) Glory to God, glory to God in the Highest! Glory to God, glory to God, glory to God in the Highest! Glory to God, glory to God, glory to God in the Highest! Glory to God! (Angel Chorus:) Glory to God in the Highest! And on earth, peace be among all With whom the Lord finds favour. Glory to God in the Highest! And on earth, peace be among all With whom the Lord finds favour. Glory to God in the Highest! Glory to God in the Highest! Glory to God, And on earth, peace! Let there be peace, peace! Peace be now! Peace be among all With whom the Lord finds favour. All glory to God in the Highest! Glory to God, Glory to God in the Highest! And on all of the earth: Peace! Glory to God in the Highest! And on all of the earth: Peace!

Narration 3 01:09
With haste the next day they were on their way. The angels song made them feel so strong! The baby to see; a road to lead To a nearby town. The sheep couldn’t stay alone for the day So they were following too. A curious sight to those passing by, Their questions seldom were few! How could they explain the reason they came To journey on, singing the angel’s song Knowing for sure the holy words Of angels calling now. Angels calling now.

Tiny Baby 03:15
Why are we traveling out on this road? Soon up ahead, so we’ve been told Is such a wonderful sight to behold: A newborn tiny baby! We were all babies once not long ago. Then we grew fast, so we’ve been told. It’s so incredible: life is so new All for a tiny baby. Such an incredible journey! Always new ways to be learning! Angels watch over us all of the way All through the night, all through the day. And they are watching now, there in the hay A newborn tiny baby. Lu lu lu lu lu Such an incredible journey! Always new ways to be learning! That’s why we’re traveling out on this road. Soon up ahead, so we’ve been told Is such a wonderful sight to behold: A newborn tiny baby! It’s so incredible: life is so new All for a tiny baby. All for a tiny baby.

Narration 4 01:05
In Bethlehem town they asked around: The stable to find, it didn’t take much time. Word had spread and they were led The special place they found. A song to hear, a voice so clear: A mother singing in joy! A newborn child, the infant mild, Our Saviour, this tiny boy! Silently, they tiptoed to see The holy sight revealed by God’s own might. And around them looking down Were angels watching now.

Mary's Song 06:32
(Mary) My heart magnifies the Lord My Spirit rejoices in God, my Saviour For You have looked here on the humbleness of your servant Surely, from now on, all generations shall know I'm blessed For the Mighty One has done great things for me Holy is this name With mercy for those who love this From generation to generation Here now, Your Son to us is born. Our spirits rejoice in God our Saviour For He has brought this infant into our very presence. Surely from now on all generations will know I'm blessed For the Mighty One has done great things for me. Holy is this name. His mercy is for those who love this From generation to generation to generation Forever and ever. And ever and ever Amen, amen. Amen, amen. Hallelujah, hallelujah! Hallelujah, hallelujah! Hallelujah, hallelujah! Hallelujah, hallelujah! (repeats)

The shepherds knew the angel’s truth: Their Saviour born! Their hopes were not forlorn. They told Mary and Joseph with glee And all who listened ‘round. The angel words for those who heard By shepherd’s voice: A choir of God’s own choice. Now others could hear in tones so clear The song of glory found. Amazing but true in all they knew Endless reasons for why. Their new song, clear and strong, Echoed through the sky. Each word and measure Mary treasured And pondered them by heart to understand. Glory and praise the shepherds raised Of Angel’s calling ‘round. (ALL:) Can you hear their words so clear? Find a way and then try. Still their song for you belongs To echo through the sky. Consider anew what God can do. Let peace each day for each and all be great: Emmanuel, here to dwell And angels calling ‘round. Emmanuel, here to dwell And angels calling ‘round. Emmanuel, here to dwell And angels calling ‘round. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah!
